Once again Stocky's is bringing you to the forefront of modern stockmaking technology with our own exclusives! Our new FG lineup features molded-in colors, hand layup fiberglass / carbon fiber construction, barrel channels up to and including the Proof Sendero (M24) and the standard inlets are designed fit both factory Rem 700 receivers as well as the modern crop of 700 clones (e.g. Defiance, Big Horn, Stiller).
This version is ergonomically identical to the injection-molded version, the LRC M50. Unlike the previous carbon fiber version we did, this new M50-FG™ ("FG" stands for fiberglass) sports the same high cheekrest, slightly flattened at the front for clearing and removing the cartridge bolt safely.
It is constructed of hand-laid layers of premium fiberglass cloth reinforced with a carbon fiber core for superior strength in a lightweight build, and then completed with a unique selection from our variety of molded in color schemes. Despite the rather large size, it still weighs just over 2 lbs..
The M50 features a big, soft, hand-fitted Pachmayr Decelerator™ pad to tame the largest magnums. The long forend (10.5") is ideal for barrels from 20" through 28" or 30". The high cheek keeps your eye in line with big scopes with a solid cheek-weld and the ambidextrous palmswell puts you index finger right on the trigger where it belongs. In short it offers outstanding fire control on everything from from varmint calibers up through the big .338's and .375's.
Stocky designed this stock for his own long range, often extreme hunting conditions and we think you'll agree it is ideal for this purpose.

Stocky's Take: For all-around use under any and all conditions it is hard to beat a hand-made fiberglass / gelcoat stock. It's realtively light weight, is unaffected by temperature and humidity and is a solid platform for any rifle build or to significantly improve your standard factory rifle. There are none of those ridiculous cartridge restrictions we are seeing some companies impose as a stop-gap to advertise lighter construction by using lesser quality layups. The gelcoat finishes are not only durable, but easily reparable - small scratches can be literally polished out. While the shell may be literally a couple ounces heavier than our carbon-fiber technology, we use CF technology on the inside to keep the weight right at what many consider to be the ideal weight in a stock that can take years of abuse, at a reasonable price.
You don't see more of them is because it's a difficult manufacturing process to master, not to mention expensive to set-up. There are very few manufacturers doing it - only a handful - and most are significantly more expensive. However, as you know I am committed to bringing you the best of the best - so we are now offering our proven designs in this construction.
There is a reason that the marine industry uses fiberglass / gelcoat construction on just about every boat on the water today - when it is going to take a pounding all-day everyday, especially when your life depends on it, it is the go-to technology. Same goes with these riflestocks.
