What's included in this package
1-Proof Research Carbon Fiber Barrels- Pre-Fit Savage Barrels in your choice of caliber and length.
Your Pre-Fit Savage bolt-action barrel will arrive chambered and threaded in various calibers. We recommend a qualified gunsmith install the pre-fit barrel on your Savage. These barrels are made for the smaller thread size receivers. Feel free to call us to double check which one you have. You can also tell which thread size you have by measuring the barrel nut length. If it is 5/8" long you have the large thread and these barrels will not work but you can still use a bolt action blank and have it threaded and chambered by a gunsmith. If your barrel nut measures 7/8" long then it would be the smaller thread and these barrels will work.

This unit is for the latest crop of heavy barrel Savage Short Action rifles, centerfeed design with either 4 3/8" (4.40") spacing or the older 4.25" spacing between the 2 main receiver screws. The new 3-screw target actions have the third screw thru the center of what would be the magazine on a repeater, and the magazine region is solid aluminum under the receiver! This allows you to get a good torgue on all 3 for the best bedding and accuracy possible. (Do not count the rear trigger guard screw.) You must measure your rifle before you purchase this stock!
