When PROOF Research joined with Lawrence Barrels in 2012 they acquired 15 years of experience in manufacturing precision steel barrels. These stainless steel cut-rifled barrels are made in-house with an absolute commitment to extreme accuracy and quality. They start with double stress-relieved 416R stainless steel, a pre-hardened chromium stainless steel ideally suited for use in precision, match-grade rifle barrels. 416R was specifically designed by engineers in collaboration with barrel makers and rifle manufacturers to provide the consistency, high quality and durability the firearms industry demands.

They are shipped ready to be threaded and crowned to any length up to 26", chambered and fitted by a qualified gunsmith.

Your AR barrel is pre-chambered in either the 5.56 NATO or .223 Wylde and ready for installation by your gunsmith.

Benchmark Barrels uses only the highest quality 416R and 4140R carbon steel in the production of our product. This ensures that our barrel is the finest you can put on your rifle.

All barrels are individually double hand lapped to a true consistent bore. The manufacturing process also includes double stress relieving and quality control inspection utilizing proprietary methods along with the most accurate industry techniques available. 

We also stock barrels fluted to a specific (installation) length in the popular #4 sporter contour.

These barrels are gunsmith ready, meaning that the the barrel is threaded for the receiver but needs to be chambered in the desired cartridge by a qualified gunsmith.
