Frequently Asked Questions Q: How can I view the status of my order? Q:How do I know if I have a long or short action rifle? A:If you have a .223, .243, 6mm, .257, .308 or similar length cartridge you most likely have a short action. Conversely, the .25-06, .270, .280, .30-06, 7mm Mag, .300 Mag, .300 RUM, 8mm Mag, .338 Mag, .375 H&H or similar you have a Long Action rifle. See the Long or Short Action section of this store for an illustrated discussion. Q:How do I make adjustments as far as fitting the rifle to a stock the way I would like it? A:Stocky highly recommends 'glass bedding. Check the Store Pages section of our store for downloadable schematics and instructions. Also, there are many how-to articles scattered throughout the internet on this topic. You can always contact Stocky (mbinternet@aol.com) for any specific questions you may need answered. Q:What's the difference in weight between the JRS Classic and the Ross Thumbhole? A:We were amazed to discover it was just 3 ounces! (JRS Classic is slightly lighter) Q:I have a (magnum chambering, sendaro, tropical, varmint or bull barrel), will your stocks fit? A:Many do right out of the box; however many magnums, most tropical, varmint or bull barrels will require some fitting unless specified otherwise in the listing. If you find it necessary to 'open up' the barrel channel, use a piece of sandpaper wrapped around a dowel. We discuss this in the Accurizing section. Q:Do you have a stock for the Remington 710? A:No one has a stock for the 710. Completely different design than the 700. Q:I have a clip version of the (Remington, Savage or Winchester) Rifle. What stock should I get? A:The clip-fed versions take a completely different stock. The Remington DBM is available in a variety of synthetics or laminates and we often stock them. The only stock I know of for the older Savage 110C is a synthetic, but units for the newer drop-clip models are starting to ship now. None for the Winchester 70 that I am aware of. Q:Can I convert my blind magazine rifle to a floorplate or Detatchable Mag model? (i.e. Rem 700 ADL to BDL or DBM) A:Yes, this is easy to do. You'll need a new trigger guard, floorplate, magazine box and spring. Once you have these, with the appropriate stock, it's a 10 minute job! We can get you the parts, or you can buy them on eBay. Contact Winchester-Guns.com, Remington.com or other manufacturers directly for the parts. Q:You say military actions need some fitting, What's involved?
