Like all of our thumbholes, this is the state-of-the-art, traditional varmint style thumbhole stock that is right at home in the woods or on the range. Features include a comfortable rollover cheek piece and a semi-flat forend for greater stability when shooting from a rest while retaining a comfortable grip for offhand and field position shooting. This exciting gunstock is a completely finished drop-in and will have you shooting one of the world's best thumbholes shortly after you open the box. It comes with a durable, ding-resistant, waterproof finish (gloss or satin), dual forend studs (sling and 'pod) and a thick, soft recoil pad that will tame the baddest magnums. We have sourced a proprietary laminate wood supplier that offers an enhanced coloring in each hand-selected layer; rich, vibrant, more uniform coloring with less unstained heartwood in the hand-selected layers. Premium machining, brass receiver reinforcement pins and human-hand finishing combine to produce the most striking and durable laminated thumbhole riflestock in the price range today.
These stocks are especially designed to fit the latest crop of (non-Accustock) Savage 10 & 12's in both Blind Magazine as well as factory-Detachable Magazine heavy-barrel models.
Stocky's take: We have improved the palm-swell in the thumbhole for even more trigger control and a more relaxed grip to minimize gun-wobble at the moment of truth. Note: Some dealers carry laminates with no pad, a cheap 1/2" buttplate and/or no studs to make their stocks look less expensive. Others cheapen the finish or use fewer coats to the same end. We prefer to deliver the best stocks, not the cheapest, and you'll find them below....
