These are the "3rd Generation" Bell & Carlson stocks and sisters to the Remington Alaskans. Super lightweight uncheckered sporter style yet sport the famous full-length aluminum bedding system and best-in-class Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad. They get the weight reduction while retaining extreme strength from the use of the hi tech aramid fiber, same stuff used in DuPont Kevlar® cloth.
An individual's first reaction when pulling it out of the box is usually 'Holy cow it weighs nothing!" I generally then ask them to put it across their knee and attempt to bend it. It won't. Not so long ago I'd have paid over $500 for a stock like this, unfinished with no aluminum. These stocks are truly a-mazing.
With an aluminum skeleton running not just the length of the action but from the bottom of the grip to the forend tip (the forward swivel stud actually threads into it), these are possibly the finest aluminum-bedded hunting rifle stock on the market today, and certainly the best value. Reliable over a temperature range of -50ºF to + 140ºF and covered by a limited lifetime warranty. Warranty card is included in the box with your purchase.
Browning ABolt fits current model short actions but you may have to replace the screws if you do not have a WSM. For some reason the .308 based receiver screws are reported to be too short.

Stocky's take: Hard to find a better hunting stock for your U.S. Repeating Arms bolt action rifle. At about a pound-and-three-fourths it won't weigh you down when the bulls are in the canyons and the aluminum bedding block will give you the best possible accuracy for an out-of-the-box stock. If you have one of the above rifles I highly recommend bolting one on. No checkering - 28 oz average (Stocky weighed several.) Long action Browning see the classic checkered Medalist #2131, this one does not come long action.
