They come either laser checkered or non-checkered. Here's what we have observed on the couple dozen or so we have inspected:
- Minor cosmetic issues in the finish
- Handling marks, small imperfections, dull spots, etc. may present;
- Pads may not be perfectly fit to factory specifications.
- Laser Checkered Stocks
- Checkering panels may be off-center;
- Borders may not be properly cut;
- Checkering diamonds may not be completely pointed.
These stocks retail for $267 at the factory. Blems are sold on an As-Is basis, no returns at this price.
A note about using rifles chambered for standard cartridges in magnum barrel channels: The difference in thickness averages 0.030" (thirty-thousandths of an inch). That is .015" on either side, about the thickness of a piece of common gray cardboard or thereabouts. Magnum barrels of course work well, .270's and '06's will have a small space along side the barrel. Remove the factory pressure bumps at the forend tip and you'll have an easily free floated barrel in this stock.
