It's widely held that laminated stocks create the best combination of wood-like beauty, balance, durability and accuracy of all gunstocks available. However it is not well known why:

When a laminated blank is made, the color-dyed hardwood sheets are compressed in synthetic resin permanently bonded under thousands of pounds of pressure. This process completely impregnates the wood pores with a transparent synthetic material. This means that these stocks have all of the advantages of plastic stocks without the dull look, feel and muzzle-heavy balance of an injection-mold or fiberglass unit. Perhaps most importantly, they are far more silent in the woods ... no game-spooking "tink-tink" sound when accidentally tapped by a limb or neck-slung game call in the field.

The Ross is available in a wide range of inlettings to accommodate most barreled actions with factory barrel contours. They can be easily glass bedded with or without pillars.

Here's an Exciting Note from Stocky: As you can see above Boyds shipped us some LHRB (Left hand stock with right hand bolt handle stocks) for mounting right hand rifles to left hand stocks. Please make note of them with the "LHRB" in the model number in the inventory listing below. The ones with the plain old "LH" are for left handed rifles, "LHRB" are for mounting right handed rifles in these left handed stocks.

These units are inletted for the FBC or Factory Standard Sporter Barrel Channels. Sporters and many magnums will drop in but can be modified easily for most magnum and lighter fluted or light varmint barrels. Not the best choice for heavy varminters or bulls, those are not currently available LH. Read our Technical Pages for barrel fitting instructions and measurements.
