A note about using rifles chambered for standard cartridges in magnum barrel channels: The difference in thickness averages 0.030" (thirty-thousandths of an inch). That is .015" on either side, about the thickness of a piece of common gray cardboard or thereabouts. Not recommended for Mountain Rifles, O.K for sporters.
