If you are shopping for the perfect replacement hunting rifle stock grab one of these while you can! Stocky commissioned S& K Gunstocks, one of Remington's premium OEM suppliers, to do a special production run of these premium-quality CDL stocks.
Highly favored by the likes of Jack O'Connor and Jon Sundra, these classic units are renowned for their light-weight (28 ounces!) and fast-handling qualities. They have a slender, somewhat open grip that is well defined, but does not extend too far below the toe line. The comb is parallel to the bore, which aids scope use, and because of its straight-line design, minimizes cheek slap and felt recoil. Additional facial support is provided by a graceful cheekpiece that blends perfectly with the overall shape of the buttstock. The forend is flat-oval in cross-section. Remington CDL rifles are outselling the competition by a wide margin, and combining the qualities of the stock with the fastest-handling design you truly have an opportunity to create the ultimate classic hunting rifle for a fraction of the price you'd expect to pay.
Stocky's $149 pillar bedding services is available on these beauties.

I get a lot of questions also on the suitability of bolting standard .30-06's and .270 Wins. into these magnum stocks. In most guys opinion, they work fine. The difference between the Remington standard vs. magnum contour barrel is about 0.030" (thirty-thousandths of an inch). Divide that by 2 and you see there is a .015" space on either side of the barrel, a perfect free-floating distance. It is therefore a simple matter to remove the pressure-bumps at the tip and you'll achieve a float. Most rifles, standard or magnums, drive tacks simply bolted into in these units with no other modifications. If you object to the looks of a free-floated barrel and you own a standard caliber, you'll have to pass as this is the only way we stock them.
Stocky's take: KILLER DEAL, Selling out FAST. If you got a 700 don't miss them, and don't wait until they're gone to try to get yours. Questions? (561) 547-4704
