However it is not well known why: When a laminated blank is made, the color-dyed hardwood sheets are compressed in synthetic resin permanently bonded under thousands of pounds of pressure. This process completely impregnates the wood pores with a transparent synthetic material. This means that these stocks have all of the advantages of plastic stocks without the dull look, feel and muzzle-heavy balance of an injection-mold or fiberglass unit. Stocky's Take - Most of the time the bottom metal and screws must be replaced on Savage rimfires because your's likely has plastic, or it is molded right into the stock. This unit takes the metal found here (click). It's also available directly from Savage. This is a new, "one-size fits all" stock cut for the standard barrels. Bulls and indeed any 93 or Mark II may require additional fitting but this is the only way they come for now.
