The 2.25 lb aluminum-bedded 2958 is Bell & Carlson's standard military /varmint stock and will take whatever your field duty can throw at it ... and then some ... for years to come. (Take a moment to check out our Vertical Grip models too.)
The ambedextrous grip is designed to keep the hand in precise alignment with the trigger. There is no raised cheekpiece so they work well in either hand, and the tapered butt design keeps recoil off your face. The forend is widened to a beavertail so they not only hold steady but are also scaled to look great with heavy barrels and provide for great stability off any rest or bipod. The drop-in design is factory-fit for the heavy barrels found standard on Police Specials, SPS Varminters, etc. and is reputed to give you the free-floating barrel everyone seeks right out of the box. Snug the receiver screws to the precision aluminum bedding block and you'll see what your barreled action is really capable of.
The #2949 ADL is an ultralight 26 oz.(blind magazine) aluminum pillar bedded Medalist® stock Remington offers on their $1040 Model 700™ LV SF (Light Varmint Stainless Fluted, black) and similar to the Model 700™ Alaskan Ti-tanium (gray web). These units are designed to compete with brands retailing for over twice the money and were spec-ed by Rem for the aforementioned rifle models to be extremely stiff for its weight, significantly stiffer than other non-aluminum blocked units. Since they were designed for specially fluted barrels you may have to do some barrel fitting, and would be outstanding for glass bedding. If you are looking to lighten the weight on any thicker fluted or non-fluted barrel it'll save you about a pound and would be simply outstanding on a walkabout varminter. Can you spell c-o-y-o-t-e?
Layers of hand-laid fiberglass and Aramid mats encased in a virtually indestructable carbon-composite shell results in not only a unit that will take just about anything your hunt can throw at you, but one of the finest fitting precision handles available for todays sporting arms.
The stock is designed for a free-floating barrel, and is available in all the finishes that we currently offer, including our web and camouflage patterns. Reliable over a temperature range of -50ºF to + 140ºF and all stocks are covered by a limited lifetime warranty. Warranty card is included in the box with your purchase.
Prior to finishing, an action is mounted to all Bell and Carlson stocks to ensure a proper fit. Any stock that does not precisely fit the factory barreled action is rejected.
These units come in all the colors in addition to the standard textured black finish. The spiderwebs offer improved gripping texture and look like about twice the money and are highly recommended.
In stock or Custom Order 8-12 weeks currently. Options available on your Custom Orders include custom length-of-pull, custom recoil pads and an added protective coating called MaxxGuard if desired. See Add-Ons for details.
